Job Summary
The Student Programs Manager develops, implements and administers programs to enhance and support American Indian/Alaska Native students on their journey to becoming dental professionals. This position is responsible for managing specific student program areas and being directly involved in group advising, program planning, training and development in addition to coordinating services and programs for other defined student populations. This position supports the Society of American Indian Dentists’ strategy to promote oral health in the AI/AN community and provide the cultural, intellectual, and personal supports for youth to pursue a career in dentistry.
Nature of Work
This position reports to the Executive Director of the Society of American Indian Dentists.  The position works in a team environment, supporting the work of SAID. The Student Programs manager is responsible for the overall management of the defined student programs. This position may be involved in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to a specific student program. The incumbent must also be able to plan, organize and evaluate student programs and provide direction to students.
Duties

  • Manage and evaluate the activities, programs, and services of student programs; develop and implement appropriate methods and procedures to provide effective and successful social, cultural, and instructional activities for students.
  • Communicate with member students and other youth who reach out to SAID for information, programs, and resources. Provide technical assistance to students and professional members/mentors.
  • Manage and evaluate student activities and program operations; compile and analyze data related to student participation and program evaluation; develop organization work processes which facilitate attainment of established program goals and objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate program activities with other SAID functions and instructional programs; provide technical expertise and input concerning student activities; recruit volunteers and assist staff for events and activities.
  • Attend events/conferences related to student programs as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the regulations, policies, and eligibility requirements for specific student activities and related programs and services.
  • Other duties as assigned.     
Minimum Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in a student affairs position or a Master's degree in Higher Education, or College Student Affairs. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this position.
Special Working Conditions
Depending upon the nature of the assignment, this position may require substantial work in outdoor environments, and/or regular attendance and participation in meetings during evenings and weekends.
Significant travel may be required.
