SAID offers several scholarships and awards to current SAID student members who meet eligibility requirements. Click on the links below to learn about these opportunities.


For Pre-Dental Students

DAT Prep Program Award
AWARD OVERVIEW
DentaQuest is partnering with SAID to support a DAT prep program for the purpose of preparing our member students with a desire to enter the practice of dentistry with academic coaching, admission test preparation and mentoring. Our goal is to enable SAID Pre-Dental Students to successfully gain admission to a U.S. dental college and see success in their first year of academics.
Sponsored by DentaQuest, this scholarship is available AI/AN undergraduate students planning to take the DAT before December 31, 2023.

To be considered for this scholarship, please complete the following:

--Fill out the form below, including the essay section describing how receiving this scholarship will help you enhance and advance your ability to attend and graduate from dental school (500 words+). 
--Provide (1) proof of school enrollment and (2) your most current transcripts. and (3) your volunteer and shadowing experience by attaching a copy of each to this application.
--Be a student member in good standing of SAID for the current year, and subsequent years as pre-dental and dental student.
--Submit this form by March 15, 2023.
AWARD REQUIREMENTS
--Use Kaplan study materials to prep for DAT, 100% participation in the course, show significant participation in the online study program (minimum 200 hours of study is recommended), attend private tutoring sessions, if applicable.  Your online study hours will be tracked.
--Organize with SAID to pay for your testing
--Select a location and date for DAT (in home locale, if available or closest testing location)
--Take the DAT prior to Dec. 31, 2023
--Apply to at least 3 dental schools of student’s choosing
--Attend at least 2 professional 1-on-1 mentoring sessions (recommended: one focused on interviews, one focused on school options)
--Attend all mentorship webinars hosted by SAID (usually 1 each quarter)
--Attend at least 2 peer-to-peer sessions
--Attend the next SAID Conference
--Attend one Pre-dental workshop approved by SAID
AWARD COMPONENTS
--Kaplan DAT LIMITLESS 12-month Prep course with 3 hours added tutoring ($1599 value)
--Travel and hotel to test location, if outside the student's locale
--Testing fee
--Travel to and participation in approved workshop for pre-dental students (if fees are not covered by the workshop host)
--Coaching and mentorship opportunities between practicing SAID members and students for admissions interviews and support for the transition to dental school
--Peer to peer mentorship opportunities (including ZOOM meetings for students to connect)
--Travel, Room (double occupancy with another SAID student), conference meals, and registration at the SAID conference in Omaha, NE on June 7-10, 2023 (must be able to travel on Tues., June 6).

2023 Conference Stipend

Application window is February 1, 2023 - March 15, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. To be awarded in March 2023. All current SAID member students meeting tribal enrollment status and eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply for this stipend. Please read all details and requirements for this award.
